Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales & Business Development Manager in Oil & Gas Software & Managed Data Services to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the oil & gas industry, with a deep understanding of drilling and completions operations, and a proven track record of successfully selling technology and data solutions. This role will be responsible for developing strategic account plans, implementing growth strategies, and managing the sales pipeline to drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute account plans for key clients, identifying growth opportunities, and establishing strong relationships with decision-makers
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform sales strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including technology and service delivery, to align sales efforts with product & service capabilities and customer needs
  • Create compelling proposals and lead proposal presentations, showcasing our software solutions and managed data services
  • Track and report on sales activities, opportunities, and pipeline management
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals, regularly reviewing performance metrics and adjusting strategies as necessary
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, technology advancements, and regulatory changes impacting the oil & gas sector
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to expand our presence and generate leads

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in sales and business development, preferably within the upstream oil & gas industry
  • Strong understanding of upstream oil and gas exploration, drilling and completions, and production processes, including industry best practices and emerging trends
  • Experience in software solutions, data management solutions, and cloud-based technologies in the oil & gas sector with a strong understanding of customer pain points and value propositions
  • Familiarity with WITSML (Well Information Transfer Markup Language) is preferred
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills, with hands-on experience in proposal creation and leading proposal presentations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel to meet with clients and attend industry events
